Clayture began as a family pottery workshop in 1960. Three generations later we are still doing the same thing, by hand, on the same wheels: sourcing natural clay, shaping it, glazing it and firing it in our own kilns before it reaches your home or your shelves.
A workshop, not a factory line.
Clayture was born out of a shared passion for preserving generational pottery techniques. For over six decades our artisans have sourced premium natural clay directly from historic regional beds, the same beds our first potters worked with.
Nothing here is stamped out by a machine. Every urn, planter, pot and water bottle is centred on a wheel by hand, dried slowly, glazed by eye and fired in a kiln we control ourselves. That is why no two Clayture pieces are ever perfectly identical, and why we would not want them to be.
Today the same workshop supplies homes across Pakistan alongside retailers, cafes, interior studios and export partners, without changing how any single piece is made.
How Clayture grew
The first kiln
The family workshop opens with a single wood-fired kiln and a handful of potters working traditional regional clay.
Techniques passed down, not written down
Glazing recipes, drip finishes and firing timings were taught wheel-side from one generation to the next. Most of what we make today still uses those methods.
From homes to retail shelves
Demand from national retailers, cafes and interior studios pushed us to build a dedicated bulk production line while keeping the hand-thrown process intact.
Direct to your door, and to your store
Clayture now runs two channels side by side: a retail store for individual buyers and a wholesale channel with tiered pricing, custom OEM stamping and export packing for Pakistan, the Middle East and the UK.
From raw earth to a finished piece
Six stages, every single time. No shortcuts, because clay does not forgive them.
Sourcing the clay
Natural clay is lifted from regional beds we have worked with for decades, then cleaned and rested until the texture is right for throwing.
Wedging and preparing
Every batch is wedged by hand to remove air pockets. Skip this and the piece cracks in the kiln, so it is done properly or not at all.
Shaping on the wheel
Each form is centred and pulled by hand. Larger floor urns are built in stages and joined once the lower body can hold the weight.
Drying and trimming
Pieces air-dry slowly, out of direct sun, then get trimmed, footed and smoothed before any glaze touches them.
Glazing by hand
Drip finishes, matte textures, marbling and metallic accents are applied by eye. This is the stage that gives every batch its own character.
Kiln firing and inspection
Firing is controlled in our own kilns, then every piece is checked for cracks, glaze faults and finish before it is packed.
